Its to stop giving a shit about not being normal. Goddamn, the scariest thing about Schizophrenia (from what I've read in many of these replies) is how normal most of your auditory and visual hallucinations are at first, or ever.
It is changing the way you are seen. So there is some percent (10-20% at least) successes with this illness, however, we are all closet schizos. Who knows maybe someday.

It seems to be doing something. I can proudly say that, while I do struggle, no meds are needed to treat me, and that I can function properly as a citizen for 80% of the day or so...most days at least, I found a way to stop feeling shit about not being normal. My son has paranoid schizophrenia and is on abilify maintena. He takes them 3 or 4 times a day and at night he sleeps well. As of right now I'm on medication and seeing a therapist in order to deal with the stress that comes with it.
